Hello again,

Hope this finds you well.

I haven't been playing many shows the last few months (although one's coming up!) but there's a reason and I'd like to share it with you: I'm finally recording my debut album! I had put this off for a while but now feels like the right time to jump in. The uber-talented Wendell Ferguson is producing and we have a whole cast of great players to help bring my songs to life. The album will come out in 2010 and I'll try to keep you posted as to its progression.

Also, very shortly I'm heading to Mishkeegogamang with the good people at TheArtsCan Circle - a charity I hold dear to my heart. We're taking up a whole whack of instruments and will be creating some music with the kids. For more information, please visit The ArtsCan Circle's website at http://www.artscancircle.ca.

Then, on June 13-14, I'll be cycling over 200 km to Niagara Falls as part of The Ride to Conquer Cancer. All funds raised from the ride go towards The Princess Margaret Hospital. Donations made towards my ride, however, will specifically go towards Lung Cancer Research in loving memory of my uncle Francisco Ormonde Dutra. Each cyclist has pledged to raise a minimum of $2, 500.00 and I am 480 bones shy of reaching my target. if you can find it in your pockets to make a donation towards my ride, please do so by visiting:

Last and certainly not least, I'll be playing at Toronto's venerated Hugh's Room on June 16 as part of Jane Harbury's "Discoveries" show. The great Wendell Ferguson will be accompanying me for this one and the other featured artists are: Lisa Manis, The Lost Chord and Matthew de Zoete. Tickets are $13 in advance or $15 at the door. Please make reservations early and let them know you want to be "Dutrafied". Visit Hugh's Room for more details. http://hughsroom.com

That's it for now.

Take care of yourself (and each other).

Fancily,
Nancy
